You probably won't get too much use of this post - it doesn't teach a new tool or exposes you to a new trend but it does give a sneak peak into one of my favorite addictions - the weekly top 5 column on ICE.co.il. Every week the best commercials in print and video are published on top 5 and so I religiously tune in to watch them. Yes, I am one of those people who loves commercials. Why? check out top 5 an you'll see. But for now - 3 reasons I love cars (and the #1 reason I'm in love the Van Damme)

What is edutainment? Why is it interesting (mainly for me?) and some cool sites/podcasts/blogs that bring education and entertainment together.
What is edutainment? Wiki - Educational entertainment (also referred to by the portmanteau "edutainment", which is education + entertainment[1]) is any entertainment content that is designed to educate as well as to entertain. Content with a high degree of both educational and entertainment value is known as edutainment. There also exists content that is primarily educational but has incidental entertainment value. Finally, there is content that is mostly entertaining but can be seen to have some educational value. So- most people think of Sesame Street when they hear this word – cause there’s nothing like a blue cookie eating monster (I ate all the cookies if anyone is wandering). But the idea is that this is a great way to lift up TV content (from trash reality to not trash at all) and teach people something while doing so. It also is a great way to shake up old-fashioned educational methodologies with some entertainment techniques. Now, in spite of the tendency to think this only applies to children it actually works great on adults( whoever wants to get the research that proves it feel free to contact me). Why is it interesting? Because most people today, in one way or another (mainly in the NGO, NPO, social innovation and such) have to do with – education or entertainment. And so from these “weekly newsletters” my hope is that you will get some edutainment tools and methods in order to add some education to your entertainment or some entertainment to your education (and that’s what makes it interesting for you I hope).
